The story of Orient began in 1950 when Tama Keiki Co., Ltd. commenced watch manufacturing.
The following year, 1951, the company name was changed to Orient Watch Co., Ltd.,
and the Orient Star brand, symbolizing the “Shining Star,” was born.
This name embodies the wish to be an entity that continues to shine brightly beyond time.
Since then, Orient has been cherished worldwide as a brand of exquisite and warm mechanical watches.

In 2017, Orient Watch Co., Ltd. merged with Seiko Epson Corporation,
which combines a long history of watchmaking with proven technology.
Today, Seiko Epson operates the Orient Star and Orient brands, handling everything from planning to manufacturing.
By blending tradition and innovation, and continuously refining our craftsmanship and advanced technology,
we will continue to create watches cherished by people around the world.
